I had events to attend in Jakarta and needed a place to stay. Jakarta boasts numerous hotels from major brands like Hilton (4 properties), Accor (49 properties), IHG (8 properties), and Hyatt (3 properties). My choice was simple: I needed to attend an event at the DoubleTree Hotel and recently attained Hilton Diamond status through the Status Match program for corporate travelers, which made the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Jakarta - Diponegoro the perfect choice for my stay.

Rooms

Upon entering the room, I noticed a welcome amenity set up on the table near the window and an elephant towel folded on the bed. The room was quite spacious, approximately 35 square meters. My Hilton Diamond membership earned me a slight upgrade to a corner room with Executive Lounge access. Overall, the room was well-maintained despite the hotel being open for almost 10 years since 2014.

Bathroom

The bathroom amenities were provided by Crabtree and Evelyn, adhering to the DoubleTree brand standard. There was ample space beside the sink for toiletries, and the overall bathroom area was quite spacious. However, the water pressure and temperature in the shower were weak and difficult to control. I contacted maintenance, but they mentioned that this was normal.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

• Excellent staff service and pre-arrival communication

• Recognition of Hilton Honors Diamond membership with executive lounge access

• Upgrade to King Corner room with a welcome gift

Cons:

• Not within walking distance to shopping malls, requiring a car for convenience

• Room is quite dated although still well maintained

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Jakarta - Diponegoro offers a comfortable and well-rounded stay with its excellent service, spacious rooms, and comprehensive facilities. The hotel’s staff are particularly commendable, providing attentive service and recognizing Hilton Honors members with special privileges. Despite being slightly away from shopping malls, the hotel's amenities, including the executive lounge, large lagoon pool, and dining options, make it a convenient and enjoyable choice for both business and leisure travelers. Overall, it’s a reliable option for anyone visiting Jakarta.
