The Courtyard New Haven at Yale is currently the only Marriott Property near Yale University / New Haven
If you're heading to Yale University for a workshop or exploration, Courtyard by Marriott New Haven at Yale offers a convenient and comfortable stay. Here's a glimpse into what you can expect.

Here are what I think are the 5 unique features of this hotel:
Proximity to Yale: Whether it's a week-long workshop or a visit to explore the university, Courtyard by Marriott stands out as a prime lodging option. Located within close vicinity of Yale University, it provides easy access to the campus and surrounding attractions. There are many nearby restaurants such as Popeyes, Wendy's, McDonald's, and Basil Restaurant, and also a close 5-minute walk to Broadway Shops at Yale.
Atmosphere and Ambiance: Despite undergoing renovations during my visit, the hotel exudes a sense of basic yet efficient charm. It caters primarily to business travelers, offering a no-fuss atmosphere perfect for a productive stay.
Amenities: While the gym offerings might be basic, featuring only a few treadmills and dumbbells, Courtyard by Marriott does provide essential amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. The on-site bistro offers Starbucks Coffee and light snacks, ideal for a quick pick-me-up before heading out to explore the nearby attractions.
Nearby Attractions: Situated just a stone's throw away from Broadway at Yale shops, guests can easily indulge in some retail therapy or enjoy a stroll through the vibrant area. Additionally, with Yale Schools a mere 10-20 minute commute away, Courtyard by Marriott serves as a convenient hub for those visiting the prestigious educational institution.
Value and Comfort: Despite its simplicity, Courtyard by Marriott offers excellent value for money. With spacious, clean rooms priced around $150 during my visit (utilizing my Citi 4th Night Free benefits), it provides a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring Yale and its surroundings.
During my stay, the hotel underwent some renovation and they closed some of the floors for a total revamp. I was lucky that I was upgraded to the renovated room! See the pictures below - look much better than the photos on the hotel's website.
